Session Eight Newsletter 2024

We are coming close to the end of camp, but we never stray far from making each week memorable. Campers continue to make new friendships and keep camp alive. We love meeting all our friendly and smiling faces each session.

Slime was a hit this week! Campers learned how to make slime, and experiment with different textures. Although they would love to take it home, we know the parents appreciate the slime staying at camp.

Another new fun craft campers learned how to make were yarn key chains! They chose a design and wrapped the wire with yarn to make it colorful.

Fun filled activity time with paint and feathers! Campers created painted pictures with a feathers they found around the farm. Our feathered friends were so generous and let us use the feathers they had shed.

Some counselors found a farm fresh recipe for applesauce. Campers learned how to make applesauce from scratch and eat a delicious snack at the end or take it home!

who remembers candy bubbles?! Counselors helped the campers melt jolly ranchers and they used a straw to blow bubbles. They all experimented with the candy and it was a success!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for TIE-DYE! Each week on Wednesday, we make tie-dye shirts. Campers have the option to bring a shirt from home or purchase a farm shirt! These shirts are 100% cotton and get soaked in a soda ash mixture to help make the colors vibrant. Campers get their shirts tied into a specific pattern and they get to put whatever dye colors they want! We let their creative personalities flourish!

Nature Sallie and Farmer Andy took some campers on a SAFARI NATURE HIKE! A little excursion through the trails to see some of the wild animals that live on the farm and learn about the different bugs and birds they saw on the hike! They even picked some wild flowers too!

Campers made some watercolor paintings too!

Some of the rainy day activities that campers joined in to make were shrinky dinks and cap-apillars! Super cute!

The rain kept us from the lake a couple days so we did a few group activities and a counselor hunt! Campers would walk around the farm to find some hidden counselors and the counselor would give them a prompt once they we found. The counselor walking with the group made some collages of the prompts!

Extra pictures from the week!
